Forest of Reading

Students in Grades 5 and 6 have the opportunity to participate in the Silver Birch Reading Program, and students in Grades 7 and 8 in the Red Maple Reading Program. In these programs, students read at least 5 of the 10 nominated titles and vote on their favourite one in April; the book that gets the most votes out of all participating schools in Ontario sees the author receiving an award at the annual Festival of Trees celebration in May! These "Forest of Reading" programs are through our school's registration with the Ontario Library Association.
